Welcome to my new series, “High End Stacks”. I’m going to be taking a look at elite player stacks that you should be targeting in your upcoming draft. In today’s episode, I am featuring Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins.
With the addition of Hopkins to the Cardinals, Murray now has unlimited weapons. He has 4 WR depth, and his mobility is off the charts. As a rookie, Murray finished as the QB #7, and I can only see this improving with the addition of a top 5 receiver and more experience under his belt. In addition, Murray now has a clear cut starting-running back with Kenyan Drake, as opposed to a make-shift committee consisting of David Johnson and Chase Edmonds. The Cardinals offense is really going to come together in the 2020 season, and I look see them starting off hot and fresh. I have him finishing as a top 3 fantasy quarterback in my rankings and could even see him finishing above Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
DeAndre Hopkins has dominated opposing defenses for years, and we will look to continue doing so in his new threads. He has posted over 1,000 receiving yards 6 out of his 8 seasons in the NFL, and this was on an offense that was at times incredible shaky. Hopkins finished as the WR #9 last season, and he will only be able to rise due to Kliff Kingsbury’s Air raid offense and his new QB. These two will be a deadly QB/WR stack that I think you can pull at a cheaper price than one’s including Mahomes, Jackson, and even Dak Prescott. Although Hopkins will most likely be an early second round pick, I think Murray could be a guy you could steal a few rounds later. Look to snag these two in your upcoming drafts!
